By train, then up the mountain
Geneva Airport has its own railway station under the terminal, and the IR90 and IR95 InterRegio services run from it to Sierre without a change — straight down the Rhône valley. Sierre is the valley town directly below Crans-Montana, and from there you have two ways up:
- the funicular from beside Sierre station up to Crans-Montana, then a short local bus to your part of the resort;
- or bus 422 from the station square, which runs up to Crans-Montana Ycoor directly.
Door to door, the timetable puts this at roughly 2 h 50 to 3 hours with one or two changes — about forty minutes more than the road, for a fraction of the cost and with no car to park for the week. On most transfers from Geneva the train is an afterthought; on this one it deserves a serious look, particularly for two people travelling without much luggage.

Self-drive up to the terrace
The road follows the motorway along Lake Geneva and up the Rhône valley to Sierre, then climbs the hairpins to the sunny terrace where Crans and Montana sit side by side at around 1,500 m. It is a well-maintained road but a mountain one: rental cars from Geneva need winter tyres, and chains belong in the boot from December to April. Once you are up, the resort runs free shuttle buses between its districts, so the car can stay parked for the week.
