GVA · PRIORITY LANE

Skip the queue with Priority Lane.

CHF 12 per person at booking, or free with business class and certain frequent-flyer status. Saves 20–45 minutes in peak hours.

What it is

A separate security lane at T1

Priority Lane is a dedicated short-queue security checkpoint, parallel to the standard central security at Terminal 1. Same screening, much shorter wait.

The Priority Lane entrance is on Level 1 (departures), to the right of the main central security checkpoint, marked with a green “Priority Lane / Fast Track” sign. You scan your boarding pass at the entry gate — if you have eligible status or a paid Fast Track ticket, the barrier opens. Average wait inside the Priority Lane: 3–8 minutes, vs 20–45 minutes at central security in peak hours (Saturday 06:00–10:00 in ski season). Open 04:30 – 22:00 daily.

Priority Lane at GVA — FAQ

How much is Priority Lane at Geneva Airport?

CHF 12 per person for a standalone Fast Track ticket, booked at gva.ch/priority-lane or at the self-service kiosks in the departures hall. Free if you fly business or first class on any airline, hold Star Alliance Gold / SkyTeam Elite Plus / oneworld Sapphire+, or have Emirates Skywards Gold/Platinum on an Emirates flight. The bundle with Aspire lounge access is CHF 55 (vs CHF 62 if bought separately).

Where is the Priority Lane entrance at GVA?

On Level 1 (departures) of Terminal 1, to the right of the main central security checkpoint, marked with a green “Priority Lane / Fast Track” sign. You scan your boarding pass at the entry gate; if you have eligible status or a paid ticket loaded against your booking reference, the barrier opens. Open 04:30 – 22:00 daily.

Does Priority Lane skip passport control too?

No. Priority Lane covers only the security screening, not passport control. On Non-Schengen flights (UK, US, Middle East, Asia), you still queue at the passport check at the T1B entry gate — typically 5–15 minutes additional. EU/Swiss/UK passport holders can use the eGates which are faster than the manual lanes.

Is Priority Lane the same as TSA PreCheck or Global Entry?

No — those are US programmes for US-bound travellers, not available at Geneva. Switzerland does not have a registered-traveller programme equivalent to TSA PreCheck. Priority Lane at GVA is a pay-per-flight fast track, not a year-round registered programme. Same screening rules apply as central security — laptops, liquids, belts, jackets all go through.

How much time does Priority Lane actually save at GVA?

Peak Saturday in ski season (Dec–Feb, 06:00–10:00): saves 30–40 minutes. Weekday morning rush (06:30–09:00): saves 15–25 minutes. Evening rush (16:00–19:00): saves 8–15 minutes. Off-peak (weekday lunchtime, late evening): saves 3–8 minutes — not really worth the CHF 12. If you have a tight connection or are stressed, Priority Lane removes uncertainty even when raw time saved is modest.
