Book a transfer →How to book Geneva Airport parking
Booking saves you 15–30% over drive-up rates and guarantees a bay during peak weekends when P1 fills by 09:00.
- Choose your lot based on stay duration (P1/P2 short term, P26/P51 long term, off-site for 5+ days).
- Book on gva.ch/parking (official lots) or on the off-site operator site (Parkos, ParkVia, etc.) at least 24 hours ahead.
- Receive QR code by email. This QR opens the entry barrier — no paper ticket needed.
- Drive to your lot. Follow the signs from the A1 exit to GVA — official lots P1, P2, P20, P26 and P51 are signposted from inside the airport perimeter. Off-site lots are signposted from the airport access road just before the perimeter.
- Scan QR at entry barrier. Barrier lifts automatically. Park in any free bay (no assigned spaces).
- Walk to terminal. P1 has direct terminal access, P2 is a 3-minute walk, P20/P26/P51 are 8–10 minutes (P26 and P51 are next to the rail station entrance).
- On return: scan the same QR at the exit barrier. If you pre-paid the entire booked duration, nothing further is required. If you over-stayed, pay the extra at the payment kiosk before going to your car.
Payment methods accepted
- Online booking: Visa, Mastercard, Amex (gva.ch), PayPal (Parkos and most off-site), Twint (Swiss payments app).
- Drive-up at payment kiosks: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Maestro, V Pay. Cash CHF accepted only at staffed payment booths during business hours.
- Twint Drive-Through: Geneva Airport supports Twint at all official payment terminals — scan QR with your Twint app, no card needed.
- Currency: CHF only at airport kiosks. Euros are not accepted (use the airport ATMs in arrivals if needed).
EV charging at Geneva Airport parking
Geneva Airport invested heavily in EV infrastructure 2024–2026, now offering one of the densest airport EV-charging networks in Europe.
- P1 (covered): 80+ chargers, mostly Type 2 11 kW + 18 DC fast (50 kW). Pay-per-use via app (Move Mobility, GreenMotion) or by credit card. Around CHF 0.45/kWh.
- P26 (covered): 40+ Type 2 chargers, 11–22 kW. Same pricing as P1.
- P2 (short-stay): 12 ultra-fast Type 2 chargers up to 22 kW. Ideal for a short top-up while running errands.
- P51 (long-term outdoor): 24 Type 2 chargers, 11 kW, bookable by visitors at CHF 0.50/kWh.
- Tesla destination chargers: 12 dedicated stalls in P1, Tesla-card or app payment.
- Booking ahead: gva.ch allows reserving an EV bay during high-demand periods (ski Saturdays). CHF 5 reservation fee.
Lost ticket or QR code — what to do
If you forget your booking confirmation or your phone dies, go to the parking office in P1 (level -1, near the elevators). Staff can look up your booking by name, email, or licence plate — Geneva uses ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) cameras at all official lot entries since 2023, so your plate is tied to your booking. Lost ticket fee for non-booked drive-up customers: CHF 80 flat (a deterrent to skipping payment). Office is staffed 06:00–23:00 daily; outside hours, use the intercom at the exit barrier.
Valet vs self-park
Official Geneva Airport parking is self-park only (no valet at P1, P2, P20, P26 or P51). For valet service, use an off-site operator:
- BlueValet GVA: drop your car at terminal arrivals door 12, valet takes it to a secured off-site lot. Same service in reverse on return. From CHF 14/day, includes car wash on long stays. Useful if you’d rather hand keys to a person than walk through P1.
- EasyParking Valet and AirPark Valet: similar service, slightly cheaper at CHF 12/day, less polished customer service.
- Hotel-coordinated valet: Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza can arrange valet for guests at CHF 25/day during their hotel stay — convenient if you’re using the hotel anyway.
For stays over 7 days, valet is competitive with P51 (CHF 254 for 14 days ≈ CHF 18/day) — and BlueValet at CHF 14/day with car wash actually comes out cheaper for less hassle.
Disability and family parking
- Disabled bays: P1 has 40 reserved bays directly opposite the elevators (closest possible position to terminal). Swiss disability card or EU/EEA equivalent required. No special booking needed but free of charge with valid card — show at exit barrier.
- Family bays: 24 oversize family bays in P1 with extra side-clearance for child seats. Bookable in advance (CHF 5 reservation) or first-come basis.
- Pregnant women: 12 reserved bays in P1, no booking, free with proof at exit barrier.
- EV + disabled: 8 dedicated bays in P1 combining accessible position and Type 2 charger.
Off-site parking — when it really saves money
For stays over 5 days, off-site lots (Parkos, ParkVia, AirPark, EasyParking) typically save CHF 50–120 compared to official P26/P51 (CHF 132/week). The trade-off: a 10–15 minute shuttle ride at the start and end of your trip, and slightly less polished facilities. Worth it for stays of 7–14 days; not worth the hassle for under 5 days.
- Parkos: aggregator showing 12+ operators, average CHF 10–14/day, free cancellation up to 24h. Best for comparison shopping.
- ParkVia: similar aggregator, slightly older operator network, sometimes cheaper for 14+ day stays.
- EasyParking GVA: standalone operator near Meyrin, free shuttle every 10 min, CHF 10/day for 7+ day stays.
- AirPark Vernier: standalone operator closer (5 min shuttle), CHF 13/day, valet option.
