Each lounge reviewed

Genuine impressions of each lounge at Geneva Airport — what’s good, what’s missing, who should pick it. Updated 2026 based on visits and operator-published info.

Swiss Senator Lounge — Star Alliance Gold only

Located in Terminal 1 Schengen sector, the Swiss Senator Lounge is Swiss International Air Lines’ premium offering. Access is restricted to Star Alliance Gold members flying any Star carrier or business-class passengers on a Swiss long-haul flight — no walk-in, no Priority Pass. Open 05:00–22:00 daily, this is the most refined lounge at GVA: hot breakfast, hot lunch and hot dinner buffets, à la carte espresso bar, premium champagne (Taittinger), three shower suites with Bvlgari amenities, a dedicated quiet zone with sleeping pods, and concierge agents for rebooking assistance.

Best for: business-class long-haul connections, premium passengers on Swiss/Lufthansa/United/SAS who value calm and quality over volume. Avoid during peak ski Saturday mornings (07:00–09:00) when even Senator gets crowded.

Swiss Business Lounge — Star Alliance Gold & Business

Adjacent to the Senator Lounge but with broader access: Star Alliance Gold + any business-class passenger on Swiss, Lufthansa, United, SAS, TAP, Brussels, Austrian, etc. Open the same 05:00–22:00, the experience is noticeably busier than Senator: buffet rather than à la carte, standard prosecco rather than champagne, no sleeping pods. Two shower suites available on a first-come basis.

Best for: business-class connections under 3 hours where the goal is decent food + workspace, not luxury. If your status is Gold and the Senator is open, walk past Business and use Senator.

Aspire Lounge — best value Priority Pass

Aspire is the most popular paid-access lounge at Geneva Airport, located in T1 Schengen. Walk-in price CHF 50 (one of the cheapest Schengen-side lounges in Switzerland), plus accepted by Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass, Diners Club, and many credit-card lounge programs. Open 04:30–22:30 — useful for very early Schengen departures (e.g. easyJet to Paris at 06:00). Features include a lake-view dining room, hot food buffet from 11:00 (cold breakfast before), self-serve drinks bar (beer, wine, spirits), Wi-Fi, and a quiet work zone. No showers — for those, use SkyView (non-Schengen) or pay extra at the airport showers.

Best for: leisure travellers with Priority Pass, anyone wanting a budget lounge experience without status. Capacity 130 — fills up quickly on Saturday ski-charter mornings.

SkyView Lounge — largest lounge at GVA, with showers

The biggest lounge at Geneva Airport with 280 seats, operated by dnata in the T1 Non-Schengen sector. Walk-in price CHF 65, also Priority Pass / LoungeKey / DragonPass eligible. Open 04:30–22:30 daily. Features: full hot buffet (breakfast 04:30–10:30, hot lunch and dinner all day), espresso bar, full bar with premium spirits (Macallan 12, Hendrick’s), four shower suites with towels and toiletries, family zone with kids’ corner, quiet work pods, and direct gate views over Pier C/D for long-haul departures.

Best for: long-haul economy passengers who want a shower and proper meal before a 10-hour flight; non-Schengen pre-departure (US, UK, Middle East, Asia routes). Compared to Horizon, SkyView is busier but more abundant in food choices.

Horizon Lounge — quiet business pick

Operated by dnata in T1 Non-Schengen, Horizon is the smaller, quieter alternative to SkyView (130 seats vs 280). Walk-in CHF 70 — the most expensive at GVA — plus Priority Pass only. Open 05:00–21:30. Strengths: dedicated business workspace with high-speed Wi-Fi, individual desks with power and USB, a working espresso bar with proper barista (not push-button), and noticeably calmer atmosphere. Food is lighter than SkyView (continental breakfast, mezze and salads at lunch, light hot dishes at dinner) — designed for travellers who want focus, not a feast. Two showers available.

Best for: business travellers needing 1–2 hours of productive work before a long-haul, anyone who finds SkyView too crowded.

Air France Lounge — SkyTeam premium

Air France lounge in T1 Schengen, accessible to SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying any SkyTeam carrier (Air France, KLM, Delta, Korean, etc.) or business-class passengers on Air France long-haul. Open 04:30–21:00. The premium European Schengen-side lounge: hot French-inspired buffet (croissants and pâtisseries from a local Geneva boulanger, hot dishes at lunch and dinner), champagne (Pommery), spa treatments on request (10-minute neck/shoulder massage by appointment), and a wine bar with rotating French selection.

Best for: SkyTeam loyalists, anyone connecting via Paris CDG or Amsterdam, business-class Air France flyers.

Access programs

Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass at GVA

If you don’t have airline status, lounge access via a paid program is often cheaper than walk-in — especially if you fly through GVA more than twice a year.

  • Priority Pass Standard Plus (US$ 329/year + US$ 35 per visit): accepted at Aspire, SkyView, Horizon. Two visits at GVA = breakeven; three visits = profit. Best for occasional GVA travellers.
  • Priority Pass Prestige (US$ 469/year, unlimited visits): same lounges as above, no per-visit charge. Worth it if you fly through 5+ lounge-eligible airports per year. Includes airport restaurant credits at select locations (none at GVA yet).
  • LoungeKey: typically issued with premium credit cards (Mastercard World Elite, Amex Platinum supplement). Same GVA lounges as Priority Pass. Check your card terms — many include a fixed number of free visits per year.
  • DragonPass: accepted at Aspire, SkyView, Horizon. Cheaper subscription than Priority Pass in some markets (Asia, Africa, Middle East). Per-visit pricing similar.
  • Diners Club International: complimentary unlimited lounge access at Aspire and SkyView with a valid Diners Club card. Best deal for cardholders.
  • Amex Platinum (American Express): complimentary access to Aspire, SkyView, Horizon via Priority Pass Select (included in card). Plus, Amex Platinum cardholders can use the Centurion Lounge network — but GVA does not have a Centurion Lounge.

Day-pass and walk-in tips

  • Cheapest walk-in: Aspire at CHF 50 (Schengen side). Best value if you only need 2–3 hours.
  • Best showers: SkyView (non-Schengen, four suites) or Aspire if you’re Schengen-side and OK with paying the airport showers (CHF 12 separately at the GVA shower facility near gate 30).
  • Family with kids: SkyView’s family zone is the only kid-friendly area among GVA lounges. Walk-in CHF 65 adults, children under 11 free with paying adult.
  • Long layover (5+ hours): SkyView walk-in CHF 65 = better deal than booking a day-use airport hotel (CHF 120+). Multiple meals included.
  • Last-minute: All paid lounges accept walk-in 24/7 during open hours, no reservation needed. Payment by card only (no cash).
  • Avoid 06:30–09:00 on Saturdays during ski season: All lounges, even Senator, hit capacity. Arrive before 06:00 or after 10:00 for a quiet experience.

The Official VIP Pack — alternative to lounge walk-in

Geneva Airport itself sells a CHF 45 VIP Pack that combines Priority Lane security access plus Horizon Lounge entry — 18% cheaper than buying Horizon walk-in (CHF 70) separately and includes the security fast-track. If you would otherwise pay CHF 70 for Horizon, the official pack saves you CHF 25 and adds security skip. Full Meet & Greet guide →

FAQ

Geneva Airport Lounges — frequently asked

Which Geneva Airport lounge accepts Priority Pass?

Three lounges at GVA accept Priority Pass: Aspire (T1 Schengen, CHF 50 walk-in), SkyView (T1 Non-Schengen, CHF 65 walk-in), and Horizon (T1 Non-Schengen, CHF 70 walk-in). All three also accept LoungeKey, DragonPass, and most credit-card lounge programs.

Which is the cheapest lounge at Geneva Airport?

Aspire at CHF 50 walk-in is the cheapest paid lounge. The Official VIP Pack at CHF 45 (Priority Lane + Horizon Lounge) is even cheaper and includes security fast-track. For passengers with Star Alliance Gold or SkyTeam Elite Plus status, access to Swiss Senator, Swiss Business, or Air France lounges is free.

Are there showers at Geneva Airport lounges?

Yes. SkyView (Non-Schengen) has four shower suites with towels and toiletries included in the CHF 65 walk-in. Aspire (Schengen) does not have showers. Swiss Senator has three premium shower suites. The airport itself also operates pay-per-use showers near gate 30 at CHF 12 per use.

Can I bring my children to a Geneva Airport lounge?

Yes. Aspire, SkyView, Horizon, and Air France lounges all accept children. SkyView is the only one with a dedicated family zone with kids’ corner. Children under 11 are typically free with a paying adult; teenagers (12+) usually pay 50% of the adult walk-in rate. Confirm at the lounge entrance.

What time do Geneva Airport lounges open?

Earliest opening: Aspire and SkyView at 04:30 (useful for very early Schengen and long-haul departures). Most others open 05:00. Latest closing: SkyView at 22:30. Air France closes at 21:00, Horizon at 21:30. All lounges are open 7 days per week year-round.

Is there a lounge in the French Sector (Pier F)?

No. There are no lounges in the French Sector of Geneva Airport. All lounges are in T1 Swiss Sector (Schengen or Non-Schengen). If you’re departing from Pier F, plan to use a lounge before passing through to the French Sector boarding area.

Can I get a shower without going to a lounge?

Yes — Geneva Airport has a pay-per-use shower facility near gate 30 in T1 (Non-Schengen side) at CHF 12 per use. Includes towel and basic toiletries. Useful if you’re connecting on a non-lounge-eligible ticket and want to freshen up between flights.

How long can I stay in a Geneva Airport lounge?

Paid-access lounges typically allow 3 hours per visit (Aspire, SkyView, Horizon). Status access usually allows unlimited stay until 30 minutes before boarding. Some lounges charge a top-up fee after 3 hours (CHF 15–25 per extra hour). For very long layovers (8+ hours), an airport-area hotel day-use room may be cheaper.

Do Geneva Airport lounges have Wi-Fi?

Yes, all six lounges offer free Wi-Fi. Horizon Lounge has the fastest documented speeds (200+ Mbps) and dedicated workstation desks with power and USB. SkyView and Aspire both deliver 50–100 Mbps. Swiss Senator and Business lounges also have dedicated work zones.

Can I book a Geneva Airport lounge in advance?

Yes, the Official VIP Pack (CHF 45) for Horizon Lounge + Priority Lane is bookable on gva.ch up to 24 hours before flight. Aspire, SkyView, and Horizon individual walk-in can be pre-booked via Priority Pass app, LoungeKey, or DragonPass apps. Walk-in is also possible without reservation, subject to capacity.

Are children’s meals available?

Yes at SkyView (family zone with kid-friendly options), Aspire (general buffet includes simple options: pasta, chicken nuggets, fruit), and Air France (childrens’ menu on request). Swiss Senator does not have a dedicated children’s menu but staff will adapt.

What if my flight is delayed and I want to extend my lounge stay?

Status access (Star Alliance Gold, SkyTeam Elite Plus) is unlimited until boarding regardless of delay. Paid 3-hour walk-in tickets can usually be extended by paying a top-up at the reception (CHF 15–25/hour). Priority Pass and LoungeKey visits are typically capped at 3 hours per visit; you may need to leave and re-enter (a fresh visit will be deducted from your credit).

Lounges at Geneva Airport — questions answered

Which lounges accept walk-in payment, what’s included, how to get in with Priority Pass — the practical answers.

Which lounges at Geneva Airport accept walk-in payment?

Two lounges accept walk-in (no membership required): Aspire Lounge (CHF 50 for 3 hours, includes hot food, open bar, shower, WiFi) and SkyView Lounge (CHF 65 for 3 hours, premium offering with à la carte menu, terrace view of the runway). Both are airside in T1 — Aspire on the Schengen side (T1A), SkyView on the Non-Schengen side (T1B). Pre-booking online via LoungeBuddy or the lounge website usually saves CHF 5–10.

Does Priority Pass work at Geneva Airport?

Yes. Priority Pass is accepted at Aspire Lounge (T1A Schengen) and SkyView Lounge (T1B Non-Schengen). Show your Priority Pass card or app at the reception desk — entry is included up to 3 hours per visit. Note that Priority Pass is NOT accepted at the Swiss lounges (Senator, Business), Emirates lounge or Qatar lounge — those require their own airline status or premium-cabin ticket.

Can I access a lounge with an economy ticket?

Yes, three ways: (1) walk-in payment at Aspire (CHF 50) or SkyView (CHF 65); (2) Priority Pass membership (~USD 99/year + per-visit fee, or unlimited from USD 469); (3) certain premium credit cards include lounge access (Amex Platinum, some Visa Infinite, Mastercard World Elite). Your economy ticket alone does not grant lounge entry — Swiss/Lufthansa/Air France economy passengers do NOT have free lounge access at GVA.

What’s included in a Geneva Airport lounge?

Standard inclusions across all GVA lounges: hot and cold buffet, open bar (wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee), high-speed WiFi, comfortable seating, USB and power sockets, newspapers and magazines, flight information screens. Premium extras (vary by lounge): shower facilities (Aspire CHF 50 incl., SkyView CHF 65 incl., Swiss Senator only with Star Gold), barista coffee, à la carte menu, terrace, work pods. Most lounges allow 3 hours maximum stay.

What is the cheapest lounge at GVA?

Aspire Lounge at CHF 50 walk-in (3 hours, Schengen side T1A) is the cheapest paid option — it includes hot food, open bar, shower and WiFi, the same core offering as more expensive lounges. Even cheaper if you book ahead via the Aspire/LoungeBuddy website (often CHF 40–45) or come via Priority Pass. If you only need WiFi and a quiet space, GVA-WiFi is free throughout the terminal and there is comfortable seating airside near gates A1, A40 and B6.

Geneva Airport lounges compared — access & price

Every main lounge at Geneva Airport (GVA) is airside in Terminal 1 — there is no separate lounge terminal. Some are airline lounges you enter on alliance status or a business-class ticket; others are independent lounges you can pay to enter or access with Priority Pass. Star Alliance, business class & Priority Pass access

There is no single “Geneva business lounge” — your route in depends on your airline, your status and your card.

  • Star Alliance. SWISS is a Star Alliance member, so the two SWISS lounges are Geneva’s Star Alliance lounges. Star Alliance Gold members (Miles & More Senator, United, Lufthansa, etc.) and passengers flying SWISS or a Star Alliance partner in Business get the SWISS Business Lounge; Star Gold and First/HON travellers use the SWISS Senator Lounge.
  • Business / First class ticket. A premium-cabin ticket on the day of travel is your lounge pass — SWISS Business for Star Alliance carriers, the British Airways Lounge for oneworld carriers (BA Club Europe, plus oneworld Sapphire/Emerald). You do not pay extra.
  • Priority Pass, cards & paid day pass. No status, no premium ticket? The three independent lounges — Crystal by Aspire, Marhaba and Horizon — admit Priority Pass and many credit-card lounge programmes (Amex Platinum, Diners Club). Anyone can also simply buy a day pass through LoungePass / LoungePair, regardless of airline or class. Booking ahead is recommended as walk-in space is capacity-controlled.

Lounge access & prices — FAQ

Is there a Star Alliance lounge at Geneva Airport?

Yes. SWISS is a Star Alliance member, so the SWISS Business Lounge and the SWISS Senator Lounge in Terminal 1 (Schengen area, near Gates A) are Geneva’s Star Alliance lounges. The Business Lounge serves SWISS and Star Alliance partner Business-class passengers plus Star Alliance Gold members; the Senator Lounge is reserved for Star Gold and First/HON Circle travellers. These are status- or ticket-based — you cannot buy a walk-in pass to them.

How much does a Geneva Airport lounge cost?

For the independent lounges you can buy into, walk-in day passes start at roughly CHF 36 for the Marhaba Lounge, CHF 45 for the Horizon Lounge and CHF 46 for the Crystal Lounge by Aspire (prices via LoungePair, checked 13 June 2026; a pass is typically a 3-hour stay). Prices change with demand, so check LoungePass or LoungePair for the live figure on your date. The airline lounges (SWISS, British Airways) are not sold by the hour — they are included with a premium-cabin ticket or status.

Can I pay to enter a Geneva Airport lounge?

Yes — three Terminal 1 lounges sell access to anyone regardless of airline or ticket class: Crystal Lounge by Aspire, Marhaba Lounge and Horizon Lounge. Buy a day pass online through LoungePass or LoungePair, or enter with Priority Pass or an eligible credit card (Amex Platinum, Diners Club). The airline lounges — SWISS Business, SWISS Senator and the British Airways Lounge — are not open to paying walk-ins; you need the matching ticket or frequent-flyer status.

Are Geneva Airport lounges in Terminal 1?

Yes. All of Geneva Airport’s main lounges are airside in Terminal 1 — there is no lounge in a separate terminal. The independent lounges (Crystal by Aspire, Marhaba, Horizon) sit in the main transit area on the mezzanine or in the East Wing near Gates C, while the SWISS Star Alliance lounges are in the Schengen area near Gates A. Pass through security and, if relevant, passport control first; the lounges are signposted from the central transit zone.
